Add your comment06 21 2010Today is a day for good news! In today's mail I received notification that my art quilt, Imprints III, has been accepted into the 2010 National Small Art Quilt Works exhibition at the Main Street Gallery, Groton, NY! The show runs July 23 - September 5, 2010. The Main Street Gallery, which is in the Finger Lakes region of New York, is close to Syracuse and Ithaca, home of Cornell University. This is an annual show and I'm really excited to have been included. The quilt (which will be displayed framed) can be seen here:

Did a lot of quilting today, and stuck it up on the wall to look at, but there is no real focal point as of yet. Although, just throwing it on the scanner here, and scanning only what ended up fitting on the scanner bed seems to have helped focus in on a section that has some flow. Maybe I'll stare at it some more, maybe I'll consider cropping it here.
Add your comment06 17 2010Rusting complete (for now), rinsed and dried, today was attaching another strip to the right and doing a few more rubbings of the buttons for continuity. Something about this, at least for now, reminds me of bee hives. About the strip added to the right, should I have just stuck it down to the first piece, rough edge and all? Not sure about this perfectly sewn hard line of stitching melding the pieces together. This is a large detail of the piece.
