08 23 2010Mina's mother always told her that Lily of the Valley, in the "language of flowers", signified the return of happiness. When she dreamed nightly of walking through fields of the bell shaped flowers, Mina considered it a good omen. Art card. Scraps of photo transfers on fabric collaged together, quilted. About 5 x 5 inches.
Add your comment08 22 2010Yesterday we did some errands, and one of them included a trip to the dump. Not normally a trip I enjoy, but yesterday I looked down and found a very intriguing, partially rusted, coil spring. Like a moth to a flame, I gravitated right to it and snagged it to add to my stash. My grid needs some more rusted lines, and so today's art was setting that up and adding the coil spring, just to see what happens.

Today's project, finishing up a quilt for my son's girlfriend to take back to college in about a week. One more unpredictable art, the other planned and planned some more. Both ending up grids however, boxes and squares.
Detail of the fabric.
A close to overall view of the quilt.
Detail of some of the squares and the quilting.
Detail of the floral free motion quilting in the black border.
